Apex Velocity & Survival SMP Setup

Deploying your high-capacity multi-server Minecraft network takes less than 10 minutes.

Server Layout

The package consists of three decoupled server directories:

  • /proxy (Velocity proxy running on port 25565)
  • /lobby (Hub server running on port 25566, restricted to proxy traffic)
  • /survival (Survival SMP running on port 25567, restricted to proxy traffic)
  • Port Forwarding & Security

To prevent unauthorized bypass of your proxy, verify that Velocity modern forwarding is enabled in both backend servers:

    In proxy/velocity.toml:

    ``toml

    player-info-forwarding-mode = "modern"

    forwarding-secret-file = "forwarding.secret"

    `

    In lobby/config/paper-global.yml and survival/config/paper-global.yml:

    `yaml

    proxies:

    velocity:

    enabled: true

    online-mode: true

    secret: "PASTE_CONTENTS_OF_FORWARDING_SECRET_HERE"

    `

    Starting the Network

Always start the Velocity proxy first, followed by the Hub and Survival instances:

    `bash

In three separate terminal screens or Pterodactyl server instances:

cd proxy && java -jar velocity.jar

cd lobby && java -jar paper-1.21.jar --nogui

cd survival && java -jar paper-1.21.jar --nogui

    ``
